Wittner Cinetec continues to work tirelessly, constantly creating new, high-quality, and — above all —perfectly manufactured Super 8 film stock. New—or rather, still in the testing phase—is a 100 ASA color negative film that already looks exceptionally appealing:
What kind of film is inside? We don’t know. But it doesn’t really matter, because Wittner’s quality never disappoints. If this film also goes on sale for €39.95 (which is the price of its sister products), it will cost almost €9 less than the Kodak Vision 3 cartridge!
Incidentally, it is quite interesting that this film is very likely intended for C-41 processing and, as a result, has higher contrast and more vivid colors than comparable ECN-2 films. It will certainly be possible to process it using either method.
If you look at a single frame from the 2K upload—which is a whopping 434 MB—you can get a pretty good sense of the frame’s sharpness and grain. I really like what I see.
