"At the end of 1980, Chinon presented something completely new: a modular Super 8 camera similar to the modular model Bell & Howell MS 45. The Chinon System 8 XL  offered as standard equipment only one 13 mm lens and fully automatic exposure metering. Available accessories included a 3x or 6x zoom lens. an accessory sound unit, a grip with intervalometer and two zoom speeds as well as wireless sound via an FM transmitter. It was almost a complete camera system, but no one can say whether it actually ever left the factory."
