(1) Time-lapse camera made for special applications: scientific research, security, surveillance. Some scientific studies were filmed with the Mekel 300, the VIC SP-1 or Kodak Analyst and then the film was analyzed frame-by-frame with projectors as Lafayette Analyzer.
(2) Kodak sold special black-and-white film for this camera: Kodak MFX Film. A thin estar base allowed 100 feet to be loaded into a standard super 8 cartridge. "Takes a variety of films that come in 50-ft super 8 cartridges, including Kodak 4-X Reversal Film 7277 at 400 daylight speed, color films at 160 tungsten speed, black-and-white films that can be processed to a negative or reversal image either commercially or with your own simple equipment. Also takes 100-ft cartridges of Kodak MFX film that can be processed to a negative or a positive for study on a film editor or viewer."
