Founded in 1931 by Charles Verschoor as International Radio Corporation, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In 1936 IRC marketed the first camera, the Argus Compact, known as the Model A. In 1939 IRC sold  the radio manufacturing business and became Argus Incorporated. In 1949 changed your name by Argus Cameras Incorporated.

Argus manufacturing still cameras, movie cameras, slide projectors and movie projectors. And during World War II and the Korean War, Argus was also a leading supplier of military cameras, binoculars, periscopes, and gun sights.
