In 1907, Eugen Bauer
built his first film projector. In 1934 Robert Bosch became the
sole owner of Eugen Bauer GmbH.. Production of Standard 8 movie cameras
for amateurs began in 1937. Eugen Bauer GmbH and Robert bosch Elektronik
Gmbh merged in 1965. 20,000 movie cameras were manufactured in 1966, and
120,000 in 1969. Robert Bosch built a factory in Malaysia in 1972.
By 1984, a total of 634,000 movie cameras had left the factory. In 1980,
Robert Bosch acquired the Nizo movie camera division. Between 1980 and
1982 the worlwide sales of cameras and projectors dropeed by one-quarter.
In 1986 the production was stopped.
